This April 7th and 9th the Teatro Comunale di Ferrara will be staging Norma, a tragic opera in two acts by Vincenzo Bellini, with libretto by Felice Romani. This opera is considered an excellent example of the bel canto tradition. Leading the outstanding cast of this co-production by the Teatri e Umanesimo Latino SpA of Treviso and the Orchestra Cittá di Ferraro will be the maestro Sergio Alapont. Stage direction is in the hands of Alessandro Londei.

Sergio Alapont has other important engagements coming up as well, including La Medium and Madama Butterfly at the Orizzonti Festival 2017, Lucia di Lammermoor at the Teatro Comunale di Treviso and the Teatro Comunale di Ferrara, La forza del destino at the Ópera de Las Palmas, opera galas at the Gran Teatre del Liceu of Barcelona and the Teatro Real of Madrid, the latter with the Orquesta Sinfónica de Madrid, and Aida in Wuppertal (Germany).
